“I got a peeling …”

Dear Readers,

we did it. After eight hours, the hardest work “Maverick too” last night finally ausgepellt. The gel coat is milled from the waterline down. Really beautiful naked.

Just amazing, that it was done so quickly. For many months haunted me about this action in the head, was like a big weight on my shoulders. It had a place to be found, where we were able to make the boat protected and still make a lot of dirt (was not so bad in retrospect), select the best type of treatment (grind radiation / / mill?), made the right health and safety measures (very good respirators with prefilter) and then ultimately the job to be done.

Yesterday it was time. I had for the method “mill” and decided many weeks previously allocated the necessary Gelplane. Without further ado, my father offered, help me this weekend at work - and that was really a great support. Cati had the 4,5 Kilo hold heavy machine and so can hardly have Manfred and I alternated on average every ten minutes, because then the arms were already limp. Eight hours we have plowed almost nonstop, then the battle was won. In between came from Nils YACHT-tv to visit, where the whole osmosis action will still be seen in video, and also my dear neighbors Bert and Marlene, who supplied us with coffee and cake. This then again given the necessary power, two more hours reinzuklotzen and the ship to put the finishing touches.

Now you can “Maverick” dry in the rest four to six months, where we the first two the hull every two weeks rinse with fresh water, thus, the acid is rinsed out of the small nests osmosis. Matter, it was “only” three on the port side and seven on the starboard side. Half so bad. But good, let's do that to get away ...

Here are some pics.
